Free con­cert for Re­mem­brance day

A FREE con­cert is tak­ing place in Rochdale on Re­mem­brance Sun­day.

The event is be­ing put on by Em­pire Rochdale in part­ner­ship with the Royal Bri­tish Le­gion on Sun­day, Novem­ber 12, and will take place af­ter the ser­vice at the Ceno­taph.

It will be on at Em­pire on Packer Street, and will fea­ture spe­cial live per­for­mances from the Sub­ur­ban Swing Orches­tra, New Iden­tity Band, and DJs The Vinyl Count­down. It will be hosted by Revo­lu­tion 96.2 DJ Dave Sweet­more.

The Sub­ur­ban Swing Orches­tra is a lo­cal 17 piece big band which spe­cialises in big band and swing, and New Iden­tity Band are a party show band who play every­thing from 60s, 70s and 80s right up to date.

There will be free tea or cof­fee plus a slice of cake, fresh home­made pie for sale, a Royal Bri­tish Le­gion mer­chan­dise stall and col­lec­tion tins.

The ser­vice at the Ceno­taph will take place at 10.50am, and the per­for­mances at Em­pire will start at 12 noon.

All are wel­come to pay their re­spects to those who have given their lives to de­fend their coun­try.
