A MAN has been convicted of owning a dangerously out of control dog.

Anthony Darbo, of Shawfield, Rawtenstall, pleaded guilty at Burnley Magistrates Court to two counts of being the owner of an American bulldog which was dangerously out of control.

The court ordered the dog be destroyed unless an exemption is obtained within two months.

Darbo, 36, was fined £150 and ordered to pay £150 compensation and £85 costs.
