Good result from surprise visit

-

A VALLEY care home has achieved a ‘Good’ rating following a surprise inspection.

Haslingden Hall care home received the grade from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) when its report was published earlier this month.

CQC inspectors undertook an unannounced visit on January 23 and 25 at the home which provides care for up to 76 older people.

The report praised the home’s treatment and training. It said: “Staff told us and records confirmed that staff received up to date training to enable them to fulfil their role.

“There was a comprehensive induction programme that was completed by staff on commencement of their role.”

Emma Bingham, the home’s registered manager, said: “The report is a credit to the staff and a highlight for the home.

“We know that we have a really strong sense of community and interaction with our residents and their families, and it means a lot to have this reported here. We are pleased that the home community is happy here, we do our very best to create a home-from-home environment, and to create a sense of occasion in everything we do, from sitting down to an evening meal, to sharing events and activities.”
