HASLINGDEN LADIES’ GUILD

-

THE Haslingden Ladies’ Guild of the RNLI held a coffee morning at Westbourne, Helmshore, on Wednesday, March 15.

More than 70 people attended the event and £340 was raised to help save lives at sea.

The Annual General Meeting of the Guild was held in January and treasurer Linda Brown reported to the committee that the money raised at events in 2016 amounted to £7,380.

Chloe Shore, area fundraising representative, was at the AGM and she presented a certificate of thanks to Mrs Carole Durst for her dedication to the cause and 16 years as press officer.

Chairman Anita Collinge said: “It is always a thrill when a committee member is singled out for the work they have done over the years and Carole is a worthy recipient of the award.”

A programme of events for 2017 has now been finalised, including a Clarins beauty evening at Haslingden Cricket Club on Thursday, May 11.

Tickets are available on 01706 214308.
