Further tragedy for family

THE sudden death of Jack Cropper is another tragedy to hit the family in a decade.

His cousin Morgan Cropper, who also attended Alder Grange school, was found dead in a small park near Burnley Road East in 2008.

Police said at the time that circumstances sur- rounding his death were not suspicious.

Morgan had worked with his uncle, and Jack’s father, James Cropper as a bricklayer. James said: “My brother lost his son nine years ago and now I’ve lost my son. Jack was a lot younger than Morgan so he was like a kind of uncle and he knew him growing up. Morgan worked with me for nine years and Jack worked with me for six years.

“It’s double tragedies for our family. We’re devastated.”

Lancashire police had issued a missing person’s appeal after Jack disappeared on Friday, July 14.

The community rallied through social media and sent out search parties, scouring the moors and countryside across Rossendale but Jack was sadly found dead on Lodge Lane in Bacup at around 9.45am on Monday, July 17.

Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Jack’s death.
