Allstars collect European titles
LOCAL Cheerleading squad Titanium Allstars from Waterfoot recently competed at the European Champion- ships in Croatia and returned home with a haul of trophies.
Run by Kirsty Louise Moore, the Allstarts squad had to qualify at the UK Cheerleading Association spring Nationals back in March of this year and were suc- cessful, qualifying to compete and represent the UK in Croatia.
Competing against countries like Germany, Croatia, Poland, Italy and Holland, qualifying was just the start of the hard work!
Cue extra practice, new routines, booking travel and accommodation in a busy period for the club.
“One of the things we needed to do as a squad was raise funds to help us get there,” said Kirsty.
“We contacted local supermarkets and arranged bag packs which were fun to do and we did those over a few months. The girls also asked their own schools for help and arranged non-uniform days and bake sales.
“We also had help from local businesses, all of which made this possible. I would also like to give a special thank you to Daniel Ross and Micheal Jarrett at Utility Smart who very kindly sponsored us for the trip.”
All the hard work and extra hours at the gym practicing routines paid off as the Allstarts came back as European Champions in Junior Cheer all girl, Mini Pom Dance and Masters Street cheer.
They were placed third and fourth in Group Stunt Junior group stunt.
“I am really proud of all my girls with the hard work, dedication and team spirit they have shown throughout this and have made the Valley proud,” added Kirsty.
“And we a very much looking forward to the future starting with our next competition at BCA in December.”
