Hassy hoping to end on a high
THE Lancashire League reaches its conclusion this weekend, with Haslingden Cricket Club looking to end the campaign on a high in the Phase Two A Division.
The Phase Two B Division has already ended, with Bacup finishing in fourth place and Rawtenstall finishing rock bottom after a disappointing season.
Ramsbottom have also played their final match in the Phase Two A Division, currently sitting in seventh place.
Haslingden have one more game remaining though, and could leapfrog their neighbours if they are victorious when they travel to Birch Hall to take on Darwen.
It will be a difficult match for Haslingden, as Darwen are guaranteed to finish in second place.
Haslingden were beaten when the two teams met at Bentgate earlier this season, with Darwen picking up a 69-run win back in July.
The final weekend of the Lancashire League season gets underway on Saturday when Lowerhouse face Todmorden, as both teams have a game in hand on the rest of the division, bar Ramsbottom. The matches on Sunday then see Burnley host Clitheroe, East Lancashire take on Lowerhouse and Todmorden welcome Nelson.
