A CARE organisation has announced the appointment of a new acting manager.

Ray Oldham has recently joined the Valley Supported Living (VSL) team in Waterfoot.

VSL said that with more than 27 years in nursing, mental health care and supportive living, Ray brings “a wealth of knowledge and experience”.

Last month Valley Supported Living bosses pledged to take ‘swift and effective’ action after it was rated ‘inadequate’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), with eight regulation breaches.

Ray said: “I am delighted to have joined VSL. My priorities are to re-focus the excellent work that the staff teams already do providing individual care to our vulnerable clients.

“I am tasked with further developing our long- standing relationship with the CQC and Lancashire County Council.

“I am greatly looking forward to being a part of this wonderful organisation’s future development.”

Offering supported living services to adults with disabilities in their own homes, VSL was set up in 2004 by a group of like-minded parents, each with a child with learning disabilities.
