MR Jack Schofield, of Holme Farm, Newchurch, died on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 27 at Royal Black­burn Hospi­tal, aged 89.

He was a butcher in his early years and then be­came a farmer.

He loved so­cial­is­ing with his fam­ily and friends, watch­ing TV and eat­ing out.

He was the hus­band of the late Freda, and leaves his chil­dren Mark, He­len, Mark’s part­ner Steph and grand­chil­dren Amy, Laura, Me­gan and Zara. He was also an un­cle and fa­ther fig­ure to many rel­a­tives and a great pal to many friends.

His funeral ser­vice, con­ducted by the Rev Michael Holt, will be held on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 8, at St Ni­cholas’ CE Church, Newchurch, at 2.15pm. This will be fol­lowed by a com­mit­tal ser­vice at Burn­ley Cre­ma­to­rium.
