Young­sters learn life­sav­ing skills

LIFE­SAV­ING Heart­start train­ing was taught at Fearns Com­mu­nity Sports Col­lege, Stack­steads.

The Year 10s and Year 8s learned how to cope with a se­ri­ous bleed, chok­ing, heart at­tack and how to per­form CPR.

Amy Evans, Year 8, said: “You have to press on the cen­tre of the chest for 30 times, then tilt the head back, hold the nose and give two breaths and then re­peat 30 com­pres­sions.”
