Youngsters learn lifesaving skills
LIFESAVING Heartstart training was taught at Fearns Community Sports College, Stacksteads.
The Year 10s and Year 8s learned how to cope with a serious bleed, choking, heart attack and how to perform CPR.
Amy Evans, Year 8, said: “You have to press on the centre of the chest for 30 times, then tilt the head back, hold the nose and give two breaths and then repeat 30 compressions.”
The pupils all received a British Heart Foundation Heartstart certificate after their course. ●● Fearns Year 8 Amy Evans, 13, performs CPR watched by, from left, Emily Woodrup and Scarlett Clawson, both 12
