Rossendale Free Press - - Memory Lane -

A MAN has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a young girl.

Craig Anthony Bell, of Burnley Road East, Lumb, was charged with sexually assaulting a child and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. The court was told the historic offences happened in the Rossendale area.

Bell, 47, was found guilty after a three- day trial at Preston Crown Court.

He will be sentenced on December 8 and has been ordered to sign the sex offenders register.

Emma Kehoe, prosecuting, told a jury at Preston Crown Court that Bell sexually assaulted and touched the complainant and also made her perform a sex act upon him.

The jury was told that Bell ‘denied committing any of the offences or any sexually inappropriate behaviour at all’.
