For more in­for­ma­tion see ac­cring­ton­cam­er­a­ uk Veter­ans and Voices’ con­cert: The Veter­ans In Com­mu­ni­ties char­ity choir is fast be­com­ing well es­tab­lished in the Valley and is work­ing in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the prize-win­ning Hasling­den and Helmshore Band to re­peat the very suc­cess­ful ‘Veter­ans and Voices’ con­cert that was staged at St Mary’s Church in Rawten­stall last June. The con­cert is a fundraiser for the Veter­ans In Com­mu­ni­ties Char­ity and the Hasling­den and Helmshore band. This year’s con­cert will again be held at St Mary’s Church from 7.30pm. It prom­ises to be an up­lift­ing ex­pe­ri­ence. Tick­ets are £5, with re­fresh­ments avail­able and park­ing at Asda. You can or­der your tick­ets ei­ther through Barry Hyde on 07954 294653, or Amanda Wal­ton on 01706 833180 and have them posted or you can pick them up on the night. All money raised will go to sup­port­ing the work of the VIC char­ity and the band. Sum­mer Fair: Lots of dif­fer­ent stalls, hot and cold lunches and ad­mis­sion is free. 10am to 1pm. Fun Day: Bouncy cas­tle, bal­loon mod­el­ling, craft, splat the rat, re­fresh­ments, face paint­ing, bar­be­cue and more. Ac­tiv­i­ties are free, small charge for food. Reck­less Aban­don: The Rossendale Methodist Cir­cuit, in part­ner­ship with Mis­sion Avi­a­tion Fel­low­ship, will host a pre­sen­ta­tion of ‘Reck­less Aban­don’ by the na­tional the­atre com­pany, 4Front The­atre at Longholme Methodist Church in Rawten­stall (BB4 7NQ) at 7pm. The two-hour pro­duc­tion re­lates the true story of Elis­a­beth El­liot, whose hus­band was trans­ported along with other mis­sion­ar­ies to a re­mote South Amer­i­can tribe and the play is their true story.
