Fitness first as Petruzi returns
BACUP Borough Manager Brent Peters has teamed up once again with vastly experienced and successful performance coach and fitness analyst Jimmy Petruzi.
A member of Peter’s backroom team back in 2011/12 when the team finished the season on a creditable high and lifted the League Challenge Trophy, Petruzi comes with a wealth of experience having worked with several Football League clubs. Peters is delighted that the pair have linked up again.
“Having Jimmy Petruzi on board is a real boost for my players,” he said.
“They will be able to work with Jimmy, not only on aspects of their fitness and condition, diet, but also the mentality and mind set of individuals on all aspects of the game and collectively the team.
“Jimmy is highly experienced in this field along with all aspects of sports psychology, his experience will be invaluable.
“Despite a successful working relationship from his previous time with Bacup, the demands from not only British clubs but overseas clubs did prevent him from continuing his post with the club.
“I am honoured that whilst Jimmy is very much still in demand, he wants to work with me and my players at Bacup again
“Whilst Jimmy will not always be able to attend games, he will work closely with my captain, Adrian Bellamy, on a full program that will benefit all.”
Petruzi said: “I will be commencing the role of performance coach at Bacup Borough Football Club and I am looking forward to working with highly experienced manager Brent Peters and his hardworking and dedicated staff.
“There is a fantastic group of players, a combination of young talented players and experience. I believe I can complement the excellent work that has already been going on at the club.
“I have a lot of respect for the League, Brent and his staff both on and off the field of play, I am very happy to be back at the club. I am looking forward to contributing towards developing a brand of football people can enjoy and assisting to produce a strong competitive team.” ●● Brent Peters, right, welcomes performance coach and fitness analyst Jimmy Petruzi back on board at Bacup Borough
