Pupils’ charity bake-off
DELICIOUS cakes proved very tempting at a high school bake sale - raising over £350.
Students at Whitworth Community High School raised their largest ever total for Macmillan - £367.
Cakes were sold by Year 11s to staff and students at break and lunch time and 60 cakes were bought by local businesses Anglofelt and BH Coates.
Isabella Taylor, 12, and Naimh Poole, 13, are on the school charity group.
Isabella said: “It was the first event I have been involved with since I joined the charity group and the hardest part was moving all the cakes around and making sure I didn’t drop any.”
Niamh said: “It was fun setting everything up and it is really good to be involved in a event like this raising money for a charity like Macmillan, but it was hard just selling the cakes because I so wanted to eat them.”
