THERE’S plenty go­ing bump in the night for lit­tle ones and big­ger ones alike this Hal­loween.

An East Lan­cashire Rail­way ghost train with fancy dress, tricks and treats will steam through the Ir­well val­ley. Ev­ery lit­tle mon­ster will get a free goody bag. Buy tick­ets at east­lanc­srail­

l A fam­ily friendly one-mile pump­kin trail in aid of Rossendale Hospice will be held at Stub­bylee and Moor­lands Park in Bacup.

Vis­i­tors can fol­low the trail to find spooky pump­kin boxes from 10am to 3pm this week­end Oc­to­ber 27 to 28.

l A Hal­loween scare­crow trail is in Helmshore on Oc­to­ber 27 to 28. Buy £2.50 maps from Neary’s store. Bacup Nat is host­ing a free ‘Mrs Ib­bitts’ Haunted House’ night on Wednes­day, Oc­to­ber 31. The event is for up to age 12, from 4.30pm to 7pm.

l Sun­ny­bank So­cial Club, on Helmshore Road, Helmshore will hold a fancy dress Hal­loween party and disco on Satur­day from 5pm with tick­ets £3 for kids and free for adults.
