Broken promise

I’m really disappointed by the way the Scottish Rugby Union have treated London Scottish (ending their development partnership). The Scotland team needs a bigger pool to pick from and the Championship is a high standard.

If there is a change to the ‘project player’ rule, as there should be, the Scots team will really struggle.

Furthermore, the SRU should not be reneging on promises – that puts a dark cloud over the union. RW says: It was wrong but to their credit the SRU have since reinstated the relationship, albeit on a more modest footing. when I first started playing in the Sixties they were locks and numbers four and five were second-rows.
