DISCUSSION POINTS
Returning to Murrayfield after failing to bed-in at Myreside, the nomads of Edinburgh are setting pulses racing under Richard Cockerill’s impressive coaching.
If they can overcome playing in a ghostly stadium every other week, then they could be contenders. The injury to John Barclay was a cruel blow – his target remains a return in time for the Six Nations – but they have done good business elsewhere.
Matt Scott returns and, with Mark Bennett fit again, that midfield looks interesting. Henry Pyrgos has moved over from Glasgow to become their main No 9. At his best, Pyrgos is a fine player who has good leadership qualities.
With dangermen Blair Kinghorn and Duhan van der Merwe this Edinburgh back-line looks very potent. Their pack is formidable and has experience and depth in a lot of areas. If Cockerill can tie it all together, they could go far.
