TRAV­ELLERS who pitched up in a re­tail park car park were served with an evic­tion no­tice by a dis­count store chain.

Car­a­vans first ap­peared in the B&M car park at Wil­low Tree Lane Re­tail Park in Glen­coe Road in Yead­ing, Hayes on Thurs­day morn­ing (Oc­to­ber 12).

Po­lice were called to the re­tail park at 5.25pm that day to reports of in­di­vid­u­als throw­ing stones at a shop and mem­bers of the pub­lic.

No ar­rests were made but po­lice are con­tin­u­ing to make en­quiries.

The fol­low­ing day, po­lice at­tended and were in­formed the trav­ellers had been served with a no­tice to leave the pri­vate land by 4pm on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 13.

A spokesman for B&M con­firmed to the Gazette that the com­pany had served them with a no­tice but de­clined to com­ment fur­ther on the in­ci­dent.

The land, near the Hilling­don border with Southall in Eal­ing, is pri­vate and there­fore be­yond Hilling­don Coun­cil’s ju­ris­dic­tion.

The store con­tin­ued to trade as nor­mal and had pre­vi­ously apol­o­gised for any in­con­ve­nience caused.
