LESS than half of primary school leavers in Runcorn and Widnes reached the expected standard in the three core subjects according to this year’s test results.
Data published by the Department For Education (DfE) revealed that 47% of Year 6 pupils achieved the required score in reading, writing and maths.
Boys performed worse than girls, with just 42% of males reaching the expected standard, compared with 51% of their female classmates.
