First in­spec­tion for Or­mis­ton Chad­wick

A WIDNES school which rose from the ashes of its pre­de­ces­sor has been in­spected by an ed­u­ca­tion watch­dog.

Or­mis­ton Chad­wick Academy (OCA) on Liver­pool Road opened its doors to stu­dents for the first time in Septem­ber 2014.

It was pre­vi­ously The Bank­field, which was deemed as ‘in­ad­e­quate’ by Of­sted in­spec­tors in Jan­uary 2014 and was placed in spe­cial mea­sures with then­head­teacher Ca­role Owen re­tir­ing.

The in­spec­tion led to John Rigby and Tues­day Humby of Or­mis­ton Bol­ing­broke Academy in Run­corn be­ing ini­tially brought in as in­terim head­teach­ers, with Mrs Humby now OCA’s prin­ci­pal.

Of­sted have re­cently un­der­taken a full sec­tion five in­spec­tion of the school over two days. ●
