First inspection for Ormiston Chadwick
A WIDNES school which rose from the ashes of its predecessor has been inspected by an education watchdog.
Ormiston Chadwick Academy (OCA) on Liverpool Road opened its doors to students for the first time in September 2014.
It was previously The Bankfield, which was deemed as ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted inspectors in January 2014 and was placed in special measures with thenheadteacher Carole Owen retiring.
The inspection led to John Rigby and Tuesday Humby of Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy in Runcorn being initially brought in as interim headteachers, with Mrs Humby now OCA’s principal.
Ofsted have recently undertaken a full section five inspection of the school over two days. ●
