POLICE in Runcorn have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with their investigation into a knifepoint robbery.

A Cheshire police spokesman said that an incident took place in a car park on Lime Kiln Row in Castlefields at 4.12pm on Saturday, January 7.

Two men aged 27 and 51 had just pulled their vehicle onto the car park when they were approached by a man who police say pulled a ‘large survival style’ knife from his waist band and demanded money. The suspect then made off with stolen cash and a mobile phone.

Police have described the alleged offender as white and of a large build, was wearing a beige woollen hat with a dark edge around the bottom, a dark threequarter length coat and grey tracksuit bottoms with white trainers at the.

He also spoke with a ‘soft Merseyside’ accent. ●

Detective Constable (DC) David Wood said: “We are very keen to speak with the man pictured so that we can progress with our enquiries.

“Anyone who recognises the man or has any information, please contact police.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Wood by calling 101 and quote incident number 519 of Saturday, January 7. Alternatively information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police are trying to trace this man
