Scientist is struck off
A BIOMEDICAL scientist who used to work for Warrington And Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been struck off.
Onovughakpor Oseruvwoja was subject to a third review of a suspension order by the Health & Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
The order was originally imposed in October 2013.
An HCPC spokesman said a panel of the HCPC Conduct And Competence Committee heard Mr Oseruvwoja was originally suspended for 12 months on grounds of misconduct while employed by Warrington And Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The spokesman added that panel further heard that Mr Oseruvwoja’s original failings included not demonstrating ‘required competency level’ on a number of benches, not demonstrating ‘appropriate time management’ skills, not ‘prioritising tasks appropriately’ and not ‘demonstrating appropriate awareness’ of health and safety issues.
Panel chair Ian Comfort said: “In light of the available evidence and submissions, the panel is satisfied that Mr Oseruvwoja’s fitness to practise is still impaired and that the public would not be protected if he were to be permitted to return to unrestricted practice.
“The panel considered that, in the absence of evidence that he has developed sufficient insight into his failings and has taken action to remedy these failings, there remains a risk of repetition and therefore a risk to the public.”
The panel ordered Mr Oseruvwoja to be struck off the HCPC Register.
Mr Oseruvwoja was present and represented himself at the hearing.
