Food safety alert over chicken wings
● THE Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an alert after Frodshambased Forrester Sales Ltd recalled Delamere British ready-to-eat hot and spicy chicken wings due to undercooking.
The FSA said the product has been sold at Home Bargains and Heron Foods.
An FSA spokesman said the packs are the 350g size with the use-by date of July 9, batch code 12250c and barcode 5060053601062.
No other products were reported to be affected.
He said customers who have bought the chicken wings should not eat them but return them to the store where they were bought and request a full refund.
The spokesman said: “The batch listed above may not have received adequate cooking.
“As a result the microbiological safety of this batch has been compromised and this poses a risk to health, if the affected product is consumed.
“Forrester Sales Ltd is recalling the above product.
“Point-of-sale notices will be displayed at stores selling the product.
“These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”
The recall notice from Forresters said: “No other Delamere products or batches are affected.
“Forresters would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused.”
