Superb U7 Greens chop down Burtonwood to end campaign in style

HFH U7 Greens 24 Burtonwood U7 4 HALTON Farnworth Hornets U7 Greens concluded their season with a convincing win over Burtonwood.

Malachy Arrowsmith with a brilliant solo effort from far out put the Greens on the scoresheet first followed soon after by a powerful drive to the line from teammate Niall Dooley.

Greens’ defence held firm throughout with a fine display of tackling from Billy Rowlands, Luke Holland and Malachy, the latter awarded top tackler for his efforts, finishing off with a further brace of tries to complete his hat-trick for the day.

Man-of-the-match Ryan O’Conner showed his pace to extend Greens’ lead shortly after the interval and their forward work was well rewarded on the last play of the game when Harry McMullan forced his way over the line to seal this success.

Coaches’ award went to Luke Holland with George Doran collecting the Parents’ Trophy. U7 Reds as with sheer determinat­ion they beat their counterpar­ts from Thatto Heath.

Each and every Hornets player put 100 per cent effort in, and there were tries from Mason Rigby, Tyler Finnigan and Tom Smith who all crossed for braces and Charlie George and Alfie Grabaskey with one each.

An excellent defensive line was shown throughout and Hornets’ forward play was fantastic.

Many congratula­tions go to the club’s Year One players who all played an outstandin­g game.
