TENS of thousands of revellers descended on Halton for this year’s Creamfields dance music festival.

The extravaganza returned to the site in Daresbury for the 12th consecutive year and around 70,000 fans attended.

It began last Thursday and ran for four days over the Bank Holiday weekend.

This year’s event was also the festival’s 20th anniversary.

Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz joined forces and performed live together for the first time in the UK in the Steel Yard Arena on Friday in their only European show of the year.

The Chainsmokers, Annie Mac and Sigma were among those to perform on the BBC Radio 1 Stage on Friday, while Armin van Buuren played the Armada Stage.

Deadmau5 and Armin van Buuren both performed on the South Stage on Saturday night while Axwell & Ingrosso and Nicky Romero were among those to play the North Stage.

Dutch DJ Tiësto headlined the North Stage on Sunday evening while Martin Garrix and Fatboy Slim performed at the South Stage.

Pictures showed crowds enjoying the numerous acts, as well as an incredible aerial shot showing the campsite and the festival in full flow, with Runcorn, Widnes and Halton’s two river crossings in the background. ● Picture: CHARLIE RAVEN ● ●
