Cart­mel a plea­sure

Af­ter tak­ing in the won­der­ful views the group de­scended into Cart­mel.

The D party led by Diane Hornby crossed fields to join the Cis­ter­cian Way. The route fol­lowed the path to join the Cum­bria Coastal Way to­wards How Bar­row and Speel Bank.

The walk’s end­ing fol­lowed coun­try lanes be­fore find­ing field and wood­land tracks back into Cart­mel.

A Hal­ton Ram­blers spokes­woman said: “The vil­lage has sev­eral hostel­ries and cafés for the groups to choose some wel­come re­fresh­ment af­ter a good days walk­ing.

“It was a per­fect day for walk­ing although car­ry­ing all nec­es­sary rain para­pher­na­lia it stayed in the bags and the walk­ers en­joyed a dry day with good views of the ar­eas.”

The group will head to Edale in Der­byshire for their next trip.
