Nurs­ery graded out­stand­ing

STAFF at a Run­corn nurs­ery are over the moon after the schools watch­dog awarded it an ‘out­stand­ing’ grad­ing across the board fol­low­ing a re­cent in­spec­tion.

Holy Spirit Pre-School, which opened 27 years ago, achieved a clean sweep of top marks after host­ing a visit from Of­sted on Oc­to­ber 7.

Lau­ren Par­sons, in­spec­tor, praised the man­age­ment and staff as be­ing ‘en­tirely ded­i­cated to pro­vid­ing the best pos­si­ble level of care and ed­u­ca­tion’.

Fund­ing was also be­ing used ‘ex­tremely ef­fec­tively to en­hance chil­dren’s lives’ and pre-school lead­ers took avail­able op­por­tu­ni­ties to en­gage with par­ents.

Staff had ‘high ex­pec­ta­tions’ of all chil­dren and a ‘strong com­mit­ment’ to help­ing them to do the best they could, nur­tur­ing them to be­come ‘highly mo­ti­vated, ca­pa­ble and ea­ger to learn’.

The in­spec­tor added the pre-school had cre­ated a ‘wel­com­ing, metic­u­lously planned learn­ing en­vi­ron­ment’ that was ‘ex­tremely well-re­sourced and or­gan­ised. ‘

Man­ager Joanne Gal­loway, is­su­ing a state­ment on be­half of her and fel­low Holy Spirit man­ager Janet Brewer, said: “We’re thrilled and so proud of the staff and the work they do.”
