Centres’ welcome sessions
CHILDREN’S centres in Widnes will be holding welcome days this November.
A Halton Borough Council spokesman said the events are for families who are not registered with the local authority, have never used one of the premises and have a child under five years old.
The sessions are taking place at Ditton Children’s Centre from 10am-noon on Monday, November 13, and at Kingsway Children’s Centre from 1-3pm on Monday, November 20.
Staff will be showing families around the premises and showing the play activities on offer, and also talking about other available services.
There will be taster sessions for children and refreshments. No booking is required. Cllr Tom McInerney (children, young people and families) said: “Children’s centres provide many different children and family services including activities for parents, parents-tobe, their babies, toddlers, young children and the rest of the family.
“They are located within your local community so you don’t have to travel far.
“All Halton Children’s Centres have disabled and wheelchair access.”
