THUGS SMASHED MAN OVER HEAD IN BIKE THEFT AT­TEMPT:

TWO would-be rob­bers hit a 51-yearold man on the back of the head and tried to steal his bi­cy­cle in Run­corn.

Cheshire po­lice said the vic­tim was walk­ing with a bike on Sten­hills Cres­cent be­tween 8.45pm and 9.45pm on Sun­day, Novem­ber 5, when he was struck with an ob­ject.

The thugs then tried to take his bike and as­saulted him fur­ther be­fore flee­ing to­wards Pic­ton Av­enue.

A Cheshire po­lice spokesman said: “The first sus­pect is de­scribed as be­ing white, aged be­tween 25 and 30 years old, of stocky build, with stub­ble, fair coloured hair to his shoul­ders and was wear­ing a blue jacket and grey trousers.

“The sec­ond sus­pect is de­scribed as be­ing white, aged be­tween 25 and 30 years old, of stocky build and was wear­ing a black hooded jacket which was pulled tight over his face.The vic­tim was treated at hos­pi­tal for an in­jury to his head and hand and has since been dis­charged.”
