Logistics boss in line for women’s award
ARUNCORN logistics manager has been shortlisted as a finalist at the 2018 FTA Everywoman In Transport & Logistics Awards.
Helen Burke, contract manager with XPO Logistics, was shortlisted for the infrastructure category, the winner of which will have to persuade judges that they have improved rail and road transport the most.
She will be among 36 finalists competing in the awards’ 11th year.
A fact sheet released by the awards organisers said Helen earned her place in the final based on achievements including having convinced site managers to embrace a business model that led to £600,000 in savings on fuel usage and by boosting customer service lev- els
Helen has more than 14 years of experience working at two major firms and in industries including, manufacturing, metals, horticulture and hazardous goods.
Her roles have varied from administration, claims and planning to operational and contractual management.
An FTA Everywoman awards spokeswoman said: “Helen is generous to a fault, sacrificing her personal time to ensure her team is mentored and supported.
“Helen often travels away from home to deliver on customer and business commitments and objectives.”
