Runcorn & Widnes Weekly News - - Theguide -

THE Jar Family will be appearing at The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn, on Saturday, May 26, promising an evening of entertainment on an ‘industrial’ scale.

The six-piece, based in Hartlepool, are individual songwriters and musicians who decided that, rather than pursue individual success. they would join forces to create an ‘industrial folk’ sound.

They have played over 400 gigs, including approximately 75 festivals, and have a fan base that is notoriously loud, loyal, large and thirsty.

The Jar Family are known for being entertaining to watch, and promise a performance infusing Bob Dylan with Steam Punk, wrestling The Pogues with Bez in a top-hat.

Blues Matters said of them: “Absolutely brilliant …with harmonies to die for, wonderful original songs… top multiinstrumentalists, character in abundance and real talent.”
