Two fam­i­lies had their chil­dren in need plans closed due to re­duc­tions in il­licit parental drug use.

The re­port said Young Ad­dac­tion had been work­ing to ed­u­cate school stu­dents about the dan­gers of al­co­hol and drugs, reach­ing 28 pupils on av­er­age each week and 391 in to­tal in three months ac­cess­ing di­ver­sion­ary ac­tiv­i­ties such as ice skat­ing, mu­sic work­shops, tram­polin­ing, panto, sports and trips.

There were 515 ‘brief in­ter­ven­tions’ in youth clubs dur­ing the quar­ter and the Young Ad­dac­tion outreach team spent 191 hours work­ing in po­ten­tial groom­ing and sex abuse hotspots around the bor­ough.

Al­co­hol guid­ance was given to 772 young peo­ple dur­ing the three months, the re­port said.
