Boy, 11, seriously hurt in collision
A SCHOOLBOY was taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after a collision with a car in Runcorn.
The incident happened in Sandymoor last Wednesday afternoon, September 19, after the Weekly News had gone to press.
A North West Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the junction of Wharford Lane and Newmoore Lane at 2.31pm.
She said an ambulance took an 11-year-old boy to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, but his condition was not classed as a ‘major trauma’.
A Cheshire police spokeswoman said officers were called to the scene at 3.15pm.
She said the casualty was taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ but could not comment further on their nature due to data protection.
There have been no arrests and police said bystanders witnessed the collision.
The police spokeswoman said: “At 3.15pm on Wednesday, September 19, police were called to a collision on Newmoore Lane, Runcorn. A car had been in collision with a pedestrian.
“The casualty, an 11-year-old boy was taken to Alder Hey Hospital with serious injuries.”
