Redevelopment plans for industrial site destroyed in fire

-

A SET of industrial units destroyed by fire in Widnes could be rebuilt.

An application in the name of ‘D Glice’, based in Leeds, has been filed with Halton Borough Council for the construction to be completed at 1-6 Warrington Road.

Smoke was seen billowing into the sky when an inferno ripped through the units on October 22.

Cheshire Fire And Rescue Service reported at the time that the blaze was not believed to have been started deliberately.

Eleven appliances were involved the all-night effort to quell the flames and make the site safe.

A design statement lodged with the plans said there will be no designated change of use for the building and it will remain classed as ‘light industrial’.
