Woman charged over shoplifiting
A RUNCORN woman has been charged with seven counts of shoplifting as part of a Cheshire police week of action targeting wanted suspects.
Sarah Jane Brown, 28, of Pine Road, was arrested on Monday, September 7.
A Cheshire police spokeswoman said the charges relate to incidents between August 24 and September 2.
Brown was also charged with a public order offence following an incident on September 1.
She is due to appear are North Cheshire Magistrates’ Court on October 6.
Cheshire police announced its operation aimed at tracing suspects on Friday, September 4.
Teams from across the force were expected to focus and combine their efforts and expertise on tracking down suspects.
Chief Inspector Sarah Heath, who led on the operation, said: “This week of action is to highlight to the public our commitment in tracking down those who try their best to evade justice.
“Locating wanted suspects is our day-to-day business, and when we identify those who are a priority for us to find, we have the use of specialist departments to help us in our search.
“No stone is left unturned, so if you know you are wanted, or you have information about someone who is wanted, it’s time to do the right thing and hand yourself in.
“You might just be on our list and it’s only a matter of time before we track you down.”
