Run­ning can boost brain­power – but new re­search1 sug­gests tim­ing is cru­cial as far as mem­ory is con­cerned. In the study, sub­jects were taught new in­for­ma­tion in a 40-minute les­son. One group ex­er­cised im­me­di­ately af­ter­wards, an­other did a work­out four hours later, while a third group did no ex­er­cise at all. When it came to re­call, the four-hour group fared best. That’s worth re­mem­ber­ing.
