You may do hill train­ing and speed­work, but do you do them in the same ses­sion? Mo Farah does: he’ll run 10 x 200m in­ter­vals on grass, with 200m re­cov­ery jogs; then 10 x 200m hill sprints at equal ef­fort, with walk-down re­cov­er­ies. There’s also a four­mile warm-up and cool-down. Adapt the ses­sion to your fit­ness by re­duc­ing the num­ber and/or length of the ef­forts.
