Mon­i­tor these three vari­ables for a few days (al­ways do so first thing in the morn­ing) to find out. A pos­i­tive re­sult on two of them sug­gests that your fluid in­take is in­ad­e­quate – and if you get a yes for all three, it’s highly likely you’re low on liq­uid.

URINE

Dark pee sug­gests in­ad­e­quate fluid.

THIRST

A con­scious de­sire for wa­ter.
