A FITTING TRIBUTE

Last year I lost my amazing, marathon-running mum to cancer, aged 68. I worried how I would deal with significant occasions (my birthday being one of them) without her around to mark them with me. Leafing through my first ever copy of RW, I noticed that the 2017 Marrakech Half Marathon fell on my next birthday. Fast-forward six months and I’m crossing the finish line in an African city with a huge grin on my face. I feel so connected to my mum when I run, and I couldn’t have thought of a

Julian Stolzenberg, London better way to celebrate my first birthday without her.
