When Nor­we­gian re­searchers put 92 adults rang­ing from their 20s to their 80s on a HIIT pro­gramme, they ex­pected to see a more mod­est re­sponse among older par­tic­i­pants. They were wrong: HIIT train­ing had the same pos­i­tive im­pact on all age groups, shown by a 9-13 per cent in­crease in VO2 max. Here is the ses­sion they did:
