On the day of the first ever London Marathon, my dad, Richard, said he’d run it the next year – he did. His love for running grew; later on, mine did too. We promised we’d run London together. Back problems put an end to Dad’s running before we managed it but he was so excited when I got a place for 2017. Tragically, he passed away in November 2016. Initially I struggled to run around our club track, my heart was so heavy with pain. But on race day, I felt him there and ran with a smile on my face in his memory. Rosy Clements, Robertsbridge
