Make the most of our sum­mer evenings with this lovely outand-back be­tween Wor­thing and Shore­ham in West Sus­sex. With the tide out, the peb­bly beach is fringed by a car­pet of wet sand, where you can make your mark. It starts at 7pm and there’s a pos­trace get-to­gether at the Coast Café. If you don’t mind get­ting your feet (and prob­a­bly quite a lot more) wet, you should rel­ish this 5K sprint along the beach of Sandown Bay. Start­ing at Hest Bank in Lan­cashire, run­ners need to get across the sands smartly to fin­ish over the county bor­der at Fluck­bor­ough, Cum­bria, on the other side of More­cambe Bay…or end up with wet feet.
