I was surprised by Jill Clark’s comment about the article Running while Female (RW, April), saying she does not wear skimpy kit, the implication being that if you wear skimpy kit you are going to get harassed. The culture of blaming the victim for the harassment is perpetrated by both men and women with comments like this. What a woman wears while running has no impact on whether a man has a right to comment or touch her. Every woman has a right to wear what she wants without fear of being harassed. – Alexandra Vaughan, Epsom, Surrey running-while-female
