WHEN RUNNING IS A BIG DEAL
Thanks so much for sharing Louise Green’s story (RW, July). I hope it inspires other larger ladies to just get out and go for it. When I took up running a few years ago I dropped from a size 20 to a 16…and that’s where I’ve stayed. So I totally relate to the discrimination Louise experienced. I too get strange looks and comments at running events. It took me years to have the courage to wear running gear in public, but I’m so glad I did. I love the freedom running gives me. And if I can run a 100km ultra as a plus-size runner, anyone can do it.
