You’ll cross the River Wye – the border between England and Wales – not once but twice during this race. You start from Chepstow and run over the iconic bridge to enjoy a spell trotting around the bucolic environs of Littleupon-severn and Kington in Gloucestershire before retracing your steps. X Border 10K

This race has become a favourite among both English and Scottish runners. The route tends to run from Gretna to Carlisle, although the organisers occasionally reverse it (as is the case with the next one). It’s as popular among the fun-running fraternity as it is with club runners. Scotland, Jan 27, 2019 x-bor

Beginning in Newry, Northern Ireland, and finishing in Dundalk, Republic of Ireland, this 13.1-miler attracts runners from both sides of the border. The fairly flat course lends itself to some fast times, too, with this year’s winner finishing in 1:14:56.
