Record fayre is back by popular demand

- Will Henshaw

Music lovers in Rutherglen are in for a treat as a record fair is set to come to the Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre.

The fair will come to the shopping centre, located on Rutherglen Main Street, on Friday, August 29, and Saturday, August 30. It will run from 10am till 5pm on both days.

The event follows on after the centre held its first ever record fayre in May.

Chris Pleasance, who runs Allander Record Fairs, is looking forward to staging it in Rutherglen.

He said: “We had looked at hotels and other venues but we feel this is an ideal location as otherwise people in Rutherglen have to travel to Glasgow to buy records.

“The fair will have a great selection of Records and CDs, lots of collectors Items, LPs and 7” singles, but also a wide range of CDs from Sinatra to the Sex Pistols, classical to Heavy Metal with plenty of bargains to be found.”

Manager of the Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre Jane Cowan said: “Back by popular demand the Record Fair is back at Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre on August 29 and 30.

“Chris and his team have been travelling all over Europe during the Summer months and gathered up quite a collection to bring to you right here on your doorstep.

“Do not miss out on the bargains, get in early on Friday and Saturday August 29 and 30, from 10am in the main square of the shopping centre and you can call Chris on 01360 440 546.”

Allander Records Fairs was established in 1987 and runs fairs thoughout Scotland, all dates are listed on the Record Fairs in Scotland site at https://sites.google.com/site/recordfairsinscotland.
