Rutherglen Reformer

-

Local councillors and community groups declared they would fight plans to close the post office at Farme Cross all the way. A Rutherglen schoolboy had a lucky escape when a lorry carrying a heavy skip careered through the front window of his house.

A Castlemilk couple told the Reformer how their lives were being made a misery by earwigs, who had continually invaded the hot water system in their home and were pouring out every time it came on.

A massive clean-up in Castlemilk saw hundreds of grannies, mums, dads and children all join forces to help tidy the area up.

Rumours that the former A. and R. Trailers premises in Farme Cross were to be turned into a scrap yard were dismissed by local councillors.
