A wi­dow was set to leave a life­time of mem­o­ries be­hind - af­ter the coun­cil an­nounced they’d be de­mol­ish­ing the house she stayed in as part of re­de­vel­op­ment plans.

Nightly pa­trols by res­i­dents were un­der way at Greenhill Court in Ruther­glen in a bid to stop the ris­ing tide of crime and van­dal­ism that was caus­ing mis­ery for lo­cals liv­ing there.

Van­dals and thugs were en­dan­ger­ing an ini­tia­tive to pro­vide a much needed shop­ping ini­tia­tive for Castlemilk lo­cals, af­ter at­tack­ing new pop-up shops.

Com­mu­nity groups de­manded im­me­di­ate ac­tion to stop fur­ther de­te­ri­o­ra­tion of the his­toric Sta­bles in Castlemilk.

Glen­cairn won the derby against Cam­bus­lang Rangers 3-1 in a league cup tie.
