Isabel had a Royal appointment
A Castlemilk woman had a royal encounter recently.
Isabel Ryrie of Castlemilk was presented to HRH Prince Michael of Kent , President, SSAFA (worldwide) when he visited the Glasgow Branch of SSAFA (Soldiers’ and Sailors’Families Association), where Isabel volunteers.
Isabel caused laughter when asked by Prince Michael if fundraising in the Glasgow area was quite easy and Isabel replied“Of course. We are all so charming.”
Throughout the years Isabel has been a volunteer with SSAFA, she has helped hundreds of veterans and their families.
In addition, as a fundraiser for the Branch, she has raised thousands of pounds for this essential work.
SSAFA has been helping our Forces and their families for nearly 130 years.
In 2013 the branch alone dealt with 415 cases, made 293 visits and raised £329,000 in grants.
