Is­abel had a Royal ap­point­ment

A Castlemilk woman had a royal en­counter re­cently.

Is­abel Ryrie of Castlemilk was pre­sented to HRH Prince Michael of Kent , Pres­i­dent, SSAFA (world­wide) when he vis­ited the Glas­gow Branch of SSAFA (Sol­diers’ and Sailors’Fam­i­lies As­so­ci­a­tion), where Is­abel vol­un­teers.

Is­abel caused laugh­ter when asked by Prince Michael if fundrais­ing in the Glas­gow area was quite easy and Is­abel replied“Of course. We are all so charm­ing.”

Through­out the years Is­abel has been a vol­un­teer with SSAFA, she has helped hun­dreds of vet­er­ans and their fam­i­lies.

In ad­di­tion, as a fundraiser for the Branch, she has raised thou­sands of pounds for this es­sen­tial work.

SSAFA has been help­ing our Forces and their fam­i­lies for nearly 130 years.

In 2013 the branch alone dealt with 415 cases, made 293 vis­its and raised £329,000 in grants.
