Young­sters from Ruther­glen’s Univer­sal Con­nec­tions have come face to face with the un­dead!

But there was no need to worry about a zom­bie in­va­sion, as the young peo­ple filmed their very own hor­ror movie, in prepa­ra­tion for Hal­loween.

The pri­mary sixes and pri­mary sevens who at­tend the Satur­day Show­down Group wrote and starred in the scary film. The day of film­ing was lots of fun, with ev­ery­one get­ting cov­ered in blood, and try­ing to do their best un­dead im­pres­sions.

Tak­ing part in the movie were: Kieran Miller (10), from Bankhead, Zoe Forsyth (10) from Spit­tal, Josh Han­nah (11) from Bankhead, Ben McKay (10) from Calder­wood, Mur­ray McGregor (10) from Calder­wood, Savannah McLaugh­lin (10), from Calder­wood, Mark Turner (10) from Spit­tal, Lucy Cun­ning­ham (10) from Calder­wood, Christo­pher Turner (10) from Spit­tal, Sam Bradley (10) from Bankhead, and Owen Brown (11), also from Bankhead.

The Satur­day Show­down runs ev­ery week at Ruther­glen Univer­sal Con­nec­tions from 10.30am–2pm.

It is open to all P6s and P7s in the area. En­try is just 50p, although there is oc­ca­sion­ally an ex­tra charge for trips. Ev­ery week there are lots of ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing arts and crafts, gaming, free in­ter­net, and cook­ery.

There is a small tuck shop and at­ten­dees can even buy noo­dles or toasties for lunch too.

UC’s Vic­to­ria Bar­nett ex­plained: “The Satur­day Show­down is a fan­tas­tic group. You get to come along with your friends and take part in lots of fun ac­tiv­i­ties.
